Lanier Technical College Senior Clinic Coordinator Vanessa Jones, right, and Caitlin Ortega clean a child’s teeth Friday morning at the school’s Oakwood campus. The event, Give Kids a Smile, brought in 162 children from Hall County schools to Lanier Technical College to receive care by volunteers from the local dental community and dental hygiene and dental assisting students. The event is designed to serve children in need of dental services including examinations, cleanings, sealants and simple restorative care. It was second consecutive year that Lanier Tech has held the event in its dental hygiene clinic. Dr. Ryan Vaughn and his office staff with Kid’s Dentistry of North Georgia organized the event.
