75 actors appear in the St. John Paul II Mission production of the Stations of the Cross. Pedro Suarez portrays Jesus, Juan Hernandez portrays Pontius Pilate. Moises Jaramillo portrays King Herod, Graciela Hernandez portrays Mary and Jairy Galvan portrays Mary Magdalene. This is the 25th anniversary of the Stations of the Cross production at the church, with the first play produced in 1990 inside St. Michael sanctuary. It grew into the parking lot at the church until the crowds grew too large. Since 2004, Laurel Park has been used as the location every Good Friday. The actors rehearse for 3 months every Saturday and Sunday. Emmanuell Almaguer, Ignacio Castillo and Berna Alberto begin construction of the stage at the park for 5 days prior to performance.
